MILMEGA is based in Ryde on the Isle of Wight. For visitors there are many ways to travel and the following gives an overview.
For travellers coming from overseas, London Heathrow is the most popular airport to fly into, but Southampton Airport is much closer if there is a scheduled flight available. From any of the airports, hiring a taxi or renting a car is usually the easiest method of travel. A journey by rail is possible although changing trains en route will probably be necessary.

Visitors need to take a train to the Portsmouth Harbour Station which is the last station on the line. A Catamaran, which usually leaves shortly after the train arrives, will take the visitor across the Solent to Ryde, taking 15 minutes. From the Ryde Catamaran Terminal, taxis are available for the 4 minute journey to MILMEGA.

Taxis from the airport to Portsmouth Harbour:
Visitors arriving in the UK by air can pre-book a taxi from one of the companies below. These are all based in Portsmouth. You will need to contact one of them directly and give them your flight details. They will arrange for one of their drivers to meet you once you have landed and cleared immigration and customs. Their driver will carry a sign with your name on it so that you can identify him. If your flight is delayed the taxi driver will still be able to meet you provided he knows your flight number. If you change your travel arrangements, please contact the taxi company directly so that they can rearrange or cancel their driver. You can get a prearranged taxi for a one way journey from Heathrow. If you do not prearrange a taxi and instead hire one from the taxi rank at the airport, the cost will be significantly greater.
